Conference
The Skopje Security Conference 2026, organized by the Center for Security Studies in Skopje, represents a high-level international platform focused on addressing the evolving nature of security in a rapidly changing global environment. Scheduled for 19 June 2026, the conference brings together policymakers, ministers, ambassadors, and leading experts to examine how technological transformation, geopolitical shifts, economic instability, and environmental pressures are reshaping global and regional security dynamics. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of artificial intelligence in defence and cybersecurity, the impact of geopolitical fragmentation, and the need for resilient societies capable of responding to complex and hybrid threats.
The conference is structured around a series of thematic panels covering key areas such as multilateral cooperation, hybrid threats and cognitive warfare, AI in modern warfare, climate-related security risks, and economic resilience in the Western Balkans. It aims to redefine how states and institutions protect critical infrastructure, democratic systems, and natural resources, aligning discussions with priorities of major international actors such as NATO, the EU, and the United Nations. By positioning Skopje as a regional hub for strategic dialogue, the event seeks to foster cooperation across sectors and disciplines, encouraging a comprehensive and forward-looking approach to security that integrates technology, geopolitics, and sustainability.
